Strengthening Churches

Strengthening Churches Foundation

Our Mission

The CBA Strengthening Churches Foundation exists to help SBC churches in Northeast Georgia fulfill the Great Commission. Our primary function is providing funds to support ministry initiatives arising from local churches. Our special focus is helping established churches grow, revitalize, or re-plant to accelerate Kingdom impact.

The SCF is governed by 9 trustees, each of whom is elected/approved by the CBA.  Funds held within the foundation are managed/distributed at the discretion of the trustees, and are not available for the day to day operations of the CBA itself. Grants are usually awarded to churches in the spring and fall each year.

2026 Spring Grant Application is Closed

Any CBA church can fill out an application for a grant. The application includes some background on the church, the current situation at the church, and the specific request for assistance. Requests should be directly related to the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission and accelerating Kingdom impact. In most cases, requests to support evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development efforts will take precedence over requests for debt payments, building maintenance, and technology upgrades.

The application should also include a specific plan for how the grant would be spent and SMART goals – i.e. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely.  The church is expected to offer periodic reports on the progress of their plan to the Strengthening Churches Foundation.

Grant Applications will reopen later in the year.

How We Help

Our Goal

Our goal at CBA is to impact the spiritual future of Northeast Georgia.  In order to accomplish that, we focus on our efforts in 3 areas:
  1. Strengthening Churches
  2. Starting Churches
  3. Serving through Local Missions

Our existing churches constitute a great potential force for good and for evangelism in this region.  In light of that, they’ll always be a top priority.  Almost all of our existing ministries are designed to help churches.

Mentoring and Coaching for Pastors
No one understands a ministry’s unique challenges and opportunities better than its local pastor or leader. That’s why there’s no single “right” path for ministry—but the right coach can provide clarity, guidance, and encouragement to keep moving forward. Through individual coaching, pastors and leaders gain fresh insight, grow in confidence, and develop stronger, healthier ministries.

If you’re interested in formal coaching, we’d love to connect with you. Contact us at (770) 532-3371 or rod@cbamissions.com.
Fight Clubs
There’s always too much to do, and sometimes powerful forces that resist change. That’s why most leaders struggle to implement what they “learn” at conferences or classes. “Fight Clubs” are small groups (usually between 5-7) of leaders committed to learning a specific skill.

Meetings include a mentor who has mastered the specific discipline involved, and participants are required to plan for/implement actual change based on what they’re learning. Participation involves a financial commitment which will be announced prior to each group launch.

Transitional Interim Pastors
Whether you are a church looking for an interim pastor or an interim pastor looking for leader development, we can help!

The season “in between” pastors often sets the tone for a church’s next chapter of ministry. Historically, very little support has been available to help interim pastors develop their skills. CBA provides a quarterly fellowship where those who are called to this role can learn from each other and constantly sharpen skills.

Contact Rod Zwemke at rod@cbamissions.com to find out about the next meeting or if your church is looking for a interim pastor.
